Sorry if this info is on here already. I got a new tecate and it had a new Ricky stator on it. Ran great at Dumont for a while then died. It's got no spark. This was what i was worried about on this trike. Is the PVL set up reliable? Anything I should know when installing it? Where is the best place to get it ( not just price but service and tech help as well) I am considering this as I am having trouble finding all the components for the kx set up and am nervous purchasing used electronics off a 20 year old machine.
Is there anything else i will need with the pvl set up or is it all there. I assume it comes with instructions to adjust the timing? Thank you for any and all help here. Love this trike and just wanna make a reliable duner out of her.

All I know is that going from a tecate ignition to a KX drastically reduces traction... and A PVL has to be even worse... That may not matter for your application though..

the pvl ignition is a great set up, but you will lose the use of your headlight if you still have it on your bike. the kit comes complete with everything you need to convert the ignition system over. they run anywheres from 375 to 425 bucks. pvl delivers a hotter spark as compared to the stockt3 or kx ignitions, and with such a tiny flywheel, it revs alot quicker. as for the dependability of it, it is very dependable, probably even better then a kx set-up. instructions are included in the kit as well. try googling penton motor sports, check ebay, ebay "stores", etc.

Thank you scooteroo. I think that's the set up I'm gonna get. My headlight is on there and was working but I have an 86 R for night rides as well as fun little 250sx and 350X too.
