I was wondering if anyone here knew how much the maximum ammount of air pressure should be in the forks on a 1985 200x? I have been riding it with 15 psi, and it seems a little soft on some of the jumps. I dont want to put too much air into them, because I am afraid they might explode. Let me know what you think. Thanx.

I dunno about a 200X, but I think the sticker on my Tri-Z tells me not to go past like 5 lbs of pressure.

Okay, I bought 10 wieght oil and the Honda shop, couldnt find 15. I drained the old oil out, and put new in. I was told to put 7 ounces in each fork, and did so. It helped a little to make it stiffer, but I was wondering if that was the right ammount? What is the maximum ammount I could put in? I dont have a manual, so maybe someone here can help me. Thanx.

Would it help to make the front forks stiffer if I put more oil in?

You are supposed to let your forks hang down with no weight on them and air them up. If your doing that then never mind what I said but I thought it may help... Maybe your forks need a re-build.

i have to run it with 15psi, because 10 (maximum ammount) is way too soft for the forks. You wouldnt think the seals are bad, because it holds air. I put a little more oil in the forks today (2 oz. or so) and put 15psi back in. It seems a little stiffer now. I wonder what 30 weight oil with progressive springs would do? twisted

my mechanic says not to go above 10 if you go anymore than that you are guarinteed to blow the seels
