I know they are different but would a 1985 Honda 250SX rear brake assembly (brake panel, brake drum, wheel hub & brake drum cover) fit and work on an '86?

Yes, if you use the (EDIT - 85) swinger and axle setup, otherwise no it won't swap....

Thanks for replying Dirtcrasher. I'm new to this site and trikes in general and this things been given me troubles left & right. I have the 86 axle and swing arm so if this is all I need then great news! Much appreciated.

I'm sorry, maybe I read you wrong.... I don't want to mislead you any further :D

The 86 or 85 entire rear end can be swapped to either year frame, which by the way, they are identical too. The driveshaft is identical for all 3 years and the pivot bearings swap too, it's just that in 86 Honda molded the seal onto the bearing.

The brake drums and assemblies, have to be used with there specific year swingarms and axles.

I reread your 1st post and hoped I hadn't screwed you up anymore! I'll edit that post.............................

Oh well, thanks for clarifying. Would you happen to know where I can find an entire rear brake assembly for an '86? I see the 85's on ebay all the time, but the 86's seem to be harder to find.
