Hi guys. I am looking for a gas tank cover for my 84 tecate. Does anybody do a plastic one? Also who makes the vinyl ones? Thanks for any help here.

Just saw the dc plastic one. Any opinions on it vs a vinyl cover?
I also need new swingarm bearings. It has a cal fab swingarm on it. will stock bearings from kawasaki work or is there something better I should be using.

I ordered bearings straight from all balls here:
https://www.goallballs.com

I don't have anything to offer about the plastic tank covers, but I have used the vinyl covers before. In fact I should have 2 in the garage, but they are red and in less than new shape. They do what they are supposed to do. I rarely used them because the snaps didn't work very well and you ended up tying knots in them to get it tight on the tank.

Hope this helps

As far as your bearings go, it should still use the stock 84 carrier so you would order bearings for that.

Thanks! I have a lot of play where the swingarm mounts to the frame. Those are the bearings I need. I am assuming it's a roller bearing of some sort. I just got this tecate today. it's my first tecate. I am more familiar with the 250R.

The vinyl covers were for sale on Ebay as recently as a couple weeks ago. I've been staying off there lately (I tend to go a little overboard), but they should still be around.

The bearings in the swingarm are needle bearings with bushings/seals on each side, the regular factory bearings are the bearings to use and fit the Calfab also. For the steering head Moose Racing sells tapered roller bearings to get rid of the stock balls that come out p/n 50-5738 from Denniskirk.com
