1984 Honda Big Red jumping out of gear

Hello, just wondering if anyone out there can help. My recently acquired Big Red runs great, looks great, etc. The only problem is it tends to jump out of gear when riding it. I have noticed that the rear bearings may be getting bad, would this cause the final drive to screw up?

Is it jumping into neutral or just dropping the gear down? Which gear or is it any gear? Bearings shouldn't affect this but if it's really bad it could be shocking the transmission into jumping out..but that would take a LOT of play to cause this especially with a shaft drive 84. Could be a lack of positive engagement too on a certain gear, usually a worn tranny.
