could it be something unrepairable if the chain pops off or super expensive?

It might be that the tensioner is not working right or that it nots inline (bent sprocket) . If all the brake parts (cables and handles) are there it should not be too bad. I paid $50.00 for my 110 but I have not had time to see if its runs. I had a freind fix my 200, now he's cleaning up my 185, then we'll do the 110.

Dennis Kirk has the sprocket for it. The sprocket it $45.00 and the chain size is 428 which you can get at your local auto shop. Brakes are another $15.00. I would get it. I had an '83 110 and it was a blast.

Could just have a loose chain and need adjusting. Simple to fix.

Chain coming off could be a loose tensioner but most likely its just worn out chain and sprockets. Theyre fairly easy to replace but I think you do have to take off the sub tranny to get to the front one. Not hard, just takes more time. Brakes are also simple, either the cable needs adjustment/replacement for it just needs new pads. Its not a bad bike for 300$.
Edit: On Hyperparts.com they list the rear sprocket for 29.95, the front sprocket for 28.75, the chain for 18.95, brakes for 11.95, and the brake cable for 14.20. Probably the cheapest place to find all this stuff.

WEll ig ot it folks!! starts nice and runs good! the bolts fell out for adjsuting chain tension and left the rear axle loose so i tightened the ones that were there and rode it around a bit! but i still need to replace one bolt that was missing.. i think it was ridden like this with a bad chain and popped off and the chain is twisted some.. so to be ridden tight i will order a new chain and sprockets.. thanks for the info nick! and i need the arm the cable connects to on the rear brakes.. i got everything else.. .. not sure of the condition internally though of the brakes i will attach a vice grip to the nub and give them a try.. the plastic rear is in GOOD shape.. the tank is NICE.. the front fender iss destroyed.. also the right rear tire needs a tub because it cracked up on the side wall. or i might be able to patch it.. have to further investigate.. they have great tread so i hate to replace them... it started first pull.. tank is super clean inside too.. i think it will be a great one for a easy restore.

found a cheaper chain check this out, maybe iw ill jsut run this on the old sprockets if they dont look to bad.. i know its good to change them all togeather.. but them sprockers are to expensive.. i would rather have the accelerated wear from a new chain on old sprockets..

I have the same problem with my 85 110 popping out of gear. mine does it all the time because my stopper gear arm broke off from inside the case. I have been trying to find someone to weld it. Maybe yours is not as serious. congrats on the trike ...looks great.

Looks nice. Is the rear axle cocked, or is the chain just that bad?

its all loose and a bolts missing, went to get a new 12 mm bolt at lowes today cost me 4 bucks!!!! and its to long so i will need to cut it down.. also need to clean up the threads on the bolt i removed from the rear axle.. i just might take the rear axle out and chase all the holes.. and weld in new nuts if they are stripped.. who knows.. thats what makes these fun i guess..
