Yes folks the deals do exist occasionally. Been bugging this widow in my neighborhood about letting me buy this '85 250es for the last few years. She put me off saying that her son wanted it for his teenagers to ride. So I just watched and pined. I was over visiting her the other day and she told me to get it out of her sight. I asked her how much, she insisted that I just take it. Well, what could I do.
Couple hours on the carb (gummed up pretty good, sitting for 3+ years) and she kick started right up. Dang tires all have flat spots from sitting though...good rubber too, but I don't think that will correct.
Now my dilema. I like this bike, but my bro has an '84 200x he'd trade me straight across for. What would you do realizing that this is a very subjective question. Keep in mind, Thats my '85 250sx already that is in great condition that I towed the Big Red home with.

I'd feel a little guilty trading it right away considering how you got it. How close are you with that person?

hmm...hadn't considered that angle...may have to ponder. Not real close. I've done a bunch of work for her (no cost to her). That was kind of the sentiment behind giving it to me, but I offered to pay. Not real close, but she is a sweetheart of a lady. Hauled a bunch of hay for her hubby when he was sick with cancer too. Service stuff, through our church.

I'd keep it. I agree with Dammit! that it was given with a personal sentiment. In my world a good Big Red is worth more than a 200x. Just my opinion though!

I'd agree with that. 200x's are a dime a dozen. That looks like a pretty nice BR too. I'd keep it.

Those two trikes look nice together!

Big reds are great all around trikes that make good workhorses and fun trail bashers. Not to mention the big red is worth 4 times more than an older 200x model. Also, as mentioned, I think the lady would get a joy out of knowing you are riding it and having a blast. So dont take that from her.:D

The plastic piece that threads into the carb, from the choke cable shattered when I was taking this off, anybody got this part?

I might have the part that you need. I'll check tonight or sometime in the next couple of days.

I would keep it. I personally like both the big reds and 200x's. Let your bro ride it while you ride his 200x, but keep onwership off it.
