Came up a headlight guard recently and am trying to put my 250R to all original so I don't want to run any aftermarket equipment. I put this guard on my R and it seems to fit nice. Truthfully I don't even like the looks of guards but I will run it if its the real thing. Anyone have any knowledge of what the Hondaline guards looked like?

Thanks

Ohh man, those Hondaline catalogs are full of the coolest stuff. I'm in ahh and would love to go back in time and buy 10 of everything. Love that skin tight riding gear.

I think oem doesn't has the two wires in front of the light. There are several types of aftermarket covers. Somethings better than nothing cause those head lights are getting harder to replace. Don't think anyone will notice but you and a tru rider. Very nice ride. My friend has an 84'thats insane..Beets

Non Hondaline,

He is right. The Hondaline ones had 4 holes drilled in tha back bars For the grill to be riveted to.The grill was a seperate piece on the Hondaline.

They made one for the 86,87 200X that was a Hondaline with the wire welded to the frame.I have one:naughty:

Thanks guys. Its pretty well made for aftermarket so I may run it for awhile. I've seen some junk welded guards before and this one I thought for sure was Honda quality, but it came with another trike I bought so no worries. Either way I apprecaite the .02

There are tons of different brands and kinds of headlight guards. There were so many aftermarket companies jumping on the bandwagon, its tough to know what is what. I personally love the headlight guards if you ride your trike, as any spill could result your light getting trashed. I got a rare guard on my R.

Thats a sweet guard. I like it in the matching red. I have the bars across the light and you have the mesh. In either case, does it block the light? I do like to night ride mine from time to time.

Well I ride mine at night too and didnt think it hurt my light at all. So I doubt yours would effect it either.
