How do I fix the bolts in my Tecate gas tank.

I'm sure somebody posted this before.

Anyway. One of the side nuts that is molded into the tank is spinning. I'm getting ready to get new shrouds, Whats the best way to fix this problem?

Do a little searching. I remember there was a thread about this not too long ago.

theres been a variety of ways people have remedied this problem. one way is to heat the surrounding area of plastic up with like a soldier gun, melting it, then using some kind of epoxy or glue to hold the nut tight in the plastic. this is what i did, and it worked great. some people soak them over night with like pb blaster or some kind of penetrating oil, etc. do a search this has been discussed a few times on here. hope all works out for you.

my tank is missing the bolts completely.. had a gaping hole in it when i got it.. i was thinking of epoxying a bolt in it, it'll help take up room and also give me something to use to hold it down.

any epoxies that are gas proof ? that'll bond to plastic ?

Dont know if it would work, as I am unfamiliar with the problem but JB weld will hold around gas. I restore a lot of old tractors that have tons of pinholes in the tank. If I can't replace (some are very unusual in shape) and too thin to weld as the base metal is crap, I just coat with JB after a good cleaning and let it set up. I did try and put gas in too early once ( I think the small amt. of gas present slows the cure a bit) and it started to leak. Dryed it..put a bit more, sanded and painted. (Let it set for 2 days, about.) It has been working for about 6 yrs now on that tank and is the bottom so gas is sittin on it at all times. I am unsure how it would hold but works great as a epoxy filler.
