I'am get ready to do a oil change on my little 185s,and I would like to know what kind of oil you guys run in your triks.
Also how often do you change you oil?

Golden spectro 10-40 in all weather from -20 to 90 above. I run it in my ytm-200. Works real good. I like it a lot.

I'd run a full synthetic. I run that in all my bikes/trikes. I'm not sure people understand the torturous conditions these small engines are put through and the more protection you have, the better.

I run Walmart 10W40 Valvoline oil (10$ for 5 quarts) and if you guys have ridden with me, you see that I have plenty of power, no smoke and no reliability problems whatsoever.....

I beat the absolute SNOT out of my 350X and I do it often!!

isn't regular motor oil not as good for the clutches? Thought you should run an oil that is compatible with the clutches like Yamalube? :wondering

Mobile1 10w-30 I run it in everything I own. Synthetic all the way!

Historically, it's the synthetics that are rumored to be bad for the wet clutches and dino is supposed to be the only way to go. Modern synthetics are perfectly fine (typically). Myself, I can only speak for the brand that I personally run and I can tell you with no uncertainty that it works fine. (read the FAQ on the website)

Think about when synthetic oils really hit the market and how long wet clutches have been made.(hint: synthetic motor oil was first invented in 1966)

Also remember back in the day that Chrysler had warning stickers on vehicles stating that the only radiator coolant compatible with the vehicle was MOPAR brand coolant. In other words, since the beginning of time manufacturers have been claiming that any oils other than their name brand would destroy wet clutches. Maybe for a couple years this was even some truth to the idea that the new fangled synthetics were bad, but I think there's plenty of evidence now to the contrary.
