Were the ATC 70 engines the same as the CT 70's?

Well I went to check it out last night and was able to pick it up for $60 bucks. I told her it was gonna cost alot to buy the flywheel cover and recoil. Well I got to work on it today. I had to pull the flywheel and clean it and set the points. It turns out that I will need a new carb as it has JB weld on the bowl and the tab that the float hangs on. It runs real good and the plastic is damn near perfect. Anybody have a carb, recoil and seat they wanna sell? PM me Thanks Justin

i cant find a used carb, i have 2 nos ones but dont want to get rid of them. i have one boot still attached to the air box but i might still use it. I am unsure if i want to go with an open element or not. but i do have the recoil assembly,

Thanks Barry_Mann the recoil works great. Just let me know what you decide on the intake boot and if you find that used carb. I rode this thing all weekend and now I want it to go faster. Any input beside putting a lifan on it.

hahaha, great to here that it worked out for you. If you dont go with the lifan you can always buy the Big Bore kits off of Dr.atv. There kinda pricey though. Before i through the lifan in mine i added a bigger carb of of a CT70 i think and i put a Hooker exhaust. It perked it up a bit. Then i got the fever and have been modding ever since. What is bad is i built it for the baby that was sleeping in my back seat. Anyway. I dont think i am going to use it. Yesterday afternoon a mocked up the stock air can. I didnt like it much. Then i mocked up the open element and i didnt like that either so what the hell. Just PM me your address and i will ship it out at the end of the week. It is painted white though, but should peel right off. Keep me updated on your progress. Maybe one day we can bring the 70's out to mud creek and play around. Of course mine is pink, so i might look kinda silly.

Well it looks like I will soon have at least 3 more by the end of the week. I posted a want ad on Craigslist and found a guy who has a clean 70 that he wants $150 for but the best part is he has 2 or 3 parts bikes that are complete but taken apart and a bunch of spares like motors, gas tanks, etc. He said he would take $225 for the whole lot. WHOO I LOVE 70s. I never understood why all you grown men loved riding 70s when you have Rs, Xs And Tecates but now I understand it. Its like the flu you just cant have enough 70s
