Almost mint condition, it was hard getting it on, and i had to make some new mounts..Guess what i paid for it :D
And I really didnt notice a change in the low end with it but it pulls alot harder high rpm..nice crackle..and its quite loud..

OK very important question. Earlier i emailed the seller because it was not going on very easy. I did get it on, but i had to make new mounts. Now he sais its possibly off of an 84. He told me to send it back for a full refund, I PAID $10.50 + $30 SHIPPING FOR THIS PIPE, theres no way i am going to send it back because i know it is worth much more. Now tell me, does that pipe look like it came off of an 83-84? thanks

It could be an '83 pipe

It looks an 81-82 but I'm not sure. 83-84 would go into the frame before the silencer. Like in this picture.

It must be an 83-84, it has the bend in the end of it that would go inside the frame, this looks to be the same pipe http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Original-Exhaust-Pipe-1984-Honda-ATC-250r-250R-NICE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a552Q7c39Q3a1 Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2e c0Q2em14QQhashZitem120295809973QQitemZ120295809973
Is that a stock pipe? or aftermarket? What brand?

Also, the 83-84 engine is the same as a 81-82 right? Would it be ok to run this pipe? it does fit decent.

I forget who made it but it was made just like the stock one and also looked just like the stocker. Here is a pic of the stock pipe that it replaced. It was severely rusted.

Here is a pic of a mugen pipe for an81-82 The new black one and an unknown sectional for an 82-83.

Well mines similar to that sectional, but it doesn't have that many sections. Would it be ok to still run it on the 81? Are the 84's and 81's the same engine? Thanks alot for your help.

Yes it will be just fine. Other than the carb and intake the only difference that I'm aware of is the shift shaft length.
That looks like a nice pipe. I would run it.

Well i have a 34 with a billet intake and boyesen pro's in it so that should be ok. I read that the 83-84's have a higher compression ratio. I might be crazy but it did seem like i lost power, on the low end, and when shifting to the next gear the engine would slow in rpm instead of just keep on pulling with no hesitation. I will run it more tomorrow, i just hope i dont piss off the neighbors too much cause its about twice as loud now lol..

you can loose power if the silencer is blown out or plugged. Packing is fairly cheap. You may want to try repacking it. It should be done every year at the least.

Yeah i took apart the silencer, its just a straight through design with packing wrapped around the inner tube, The fiberglass was black and i tore the charred stuff out and just used the stuff that wasnt black..i will buy some packing and see if it helps. Thanks

Well i took off the 34 mikuni, it was sputtering on top end with it, So i grabbed the 36 that came on it, took it apart, there was 1 float in it! no wonder the thing flooded it out so bad and ran rich. So i put in some new floats from a extra 38 i have, put in a leaner pilot, and dropped the needle. There isnt to much low end power now, but the thing just screams top end.Not sure if im gunna keep that setup..i think i liked it better with the stock pipe and the 34.
