200x ?'s

Hey guys, I've been looking for a fully suspended trike for trail riding. I've heard good remarks about the 250r, 200x and the 350x. I don't ride anything hard or too fast, but deep mud, water and sand are encountered alot. I was looking for a 250r but have heard only good things about a 200x (350x's here are few and far between). How fast is the 200x stock? Can they be wipped around easily? And do they ride well (bumps)

The 200x i had (wasa beat to death when i got it) was a strick hard trailer rider. It was fairly fast (clocked it at 55mph in 5th) and was one of the easyest trikes it get sliding around that ive ever had.

A 250R is a great trail bike, but as for mud and stuff its not going to be the greatest since its 2 stroke and youll probably end up melting a piston.

sounds like a 200x or a 250sx would be you best bet

Sounds like what you want is a 250SX. Those 3 you listed all have manual clutches, which can be a pain in water and mud if youre not very experienced. The SX is fully suspended, is geared a little lower, but can still get up to a decent speed. Its very comfortable to sit on (for me anyway), I cant sit well on a 200X.

I've riden clutches all my life and really want to stick to one. If I keep the 250r clean after mud will it over-heat? Right now I take a dirt bike through 3 1/2 feet of water and mud and through sand so a 3 wheeler should be a little easier. I kindof of want some more top-end and power through.

Ok, I'll look around for those. Up here in northern Mi. 350x's are few and far between. But 250r's seem to be more common, will a 250r survive mud if it's cleaned afterwards? Like puddles? :D
lol but if I scratch the mud off will it stay cool?

The 350X would do great in mud/woods. So much torque, and it has almost the same feel as a 250R when you are sitting on it. I kinda think the feel of riding a 350X is somewhere between sitting on a 250R and a Tri-Z.
I really doubt the 250R would do very well in mud without some low gearing. The way mine is geared now would require me to rev it to the moon before letting out the clutch in mud.

Maybe I should re-phase, the mud I ride through isn't endless mud holes. It's a deep spot here another one there. I ride with a bunch of guys and one of them has a PE 175 dirt bike the is always caked with mud but has never overheated.

Ive taken my 250R on a mud trail like that, and it did just awesome, way better then I was expecting. It wasnt the greatest thing to use though, I wouldve preferred to have a 350X that day over the 250R.

The best trail trike i've ever ridden was my dad's DR225, but a 350x would be perfect too. I would think a 250r would do fine, just a matter of personal preference.

I love my 350x. It goes thru anything. If you are a larger person, around 6ft. I'd get one. I waited about a year before I found my 350X near Grand Rapids. Hold out, you'll find a nice one. Found mine in a Bargin Finder Mag.... Good luck BEETS

Bull Gap is awesome, the hillclimb is fun, and the trails surrounding the area are great! what will you be riding up there?

I am taking my 85 BR and a 85 250sx. I am more into the trail riding than anything. Headed to Rose City in the morning.

the only bad part ive heard about 2 stroke is you cant poke along on them like the 4 stroke. id love one but i would probaly melt piston dont do enough wide open running . ive got a 85 200x and it runs great in everything ive had it in.
