Rebuilding my 110. I bought new piston and rings from dr. atv. the new rings dont have any markings what so ever like the old oem rings. does it really matter? i mean if it did i would think they would've marked them.

look closer i bet you missed the mark

4 stroke rings are pretty much always marked....and if there is a shiny one that normaly goes on top

honestly?
YES!
one side has a dot, a mark, has less silver mettel coloring showing something different. the side with the mark or less metal covered must go up.

i'm tell'n ya there were no marks. i measured the thickness of the rings so i knew which was the first and which was the second ring. but neither have any markings. what's the worst that would happen, burn oil?

some have a beveled inner edge the goes up and others have a mark near the gap. most oil rings sets (the bottom pair) arent marked and can go either way

I had a set without marks too but i forget what i did when i installed them. It was a while ago. I think I went with the beveled edge.
