yeah the rear shock is toast, i got a 300ex shock on the way. she runs perfect but the clutch and trans are going shitty.

got the 300 shock on it. alot firmer but still sits low with my fat ass on it. oh yeah got a new dg pipe and silencer on it today also.

is that a champion swinger or one of the champion copies? i might have a longer dogbone link for you that might help raise it an inch or so more. let me look thru my parts bin and see what i can find.

yeah it whines like a son of a *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited*. can the clutch make a whining noise? it sounds really funny when it's engaging and its chatter/grabby. this is just a temp motor till i get the big one freshened up. but this 100 dollar ebay special keeps on truckin so i might just put a clutch in it and see what happens

Quick fix is to run a 85 dog bone. Longer than 84. Link, pivot point, and shock are all different between years. A 85 dog bone will raise rear roughly 1 1/2 at seat with your 84 components. Or.... just 'git' a adjustable link. But, the're gettin sorta rare it seems.

i think i'll just replace it and see what happens, hopefully i get rid of the grabbing and the slipping in the higher gear

i was gonna say... The noise and grabbiness sounds like the nature of the beast to me... my 84 was that way.. even my much newer very low hour kawasaki engine is very noisey..

these are some older pics, as you can see its still in the build stages. alls i need to do is get my carb and thumb throttle on, and get my new chain for it now. i guess you can say i have been lazy as of late, lol. riding my rocket more then the atv's.

i really didn't notice a difference in power with the dg, it's just cleaner and fit's better, and the silencer is nicer looking and not welded to the head pipe
