Well I picked it up this morning. Paid $150 for it. Seems well worth the money. All bearings are tight, axle is straight, brakes work, bike runs but smokes some so it needs a new piston and rings. The rear fender is crap but I can get one of those. The tank is in great shape inside and out, the seat has a cover I guess but it's in good shape. Overall I think I did well. I fired it up and rode it around the yard and I'm amazed at the power this little 70 puts out.

Welcome to the club! :welcome:

For $150 I'd be happy to have the pull starter and good tires. If it runs and drives and the tank isn't rusty inside, I'd say that's quite a score.

Good work!

:beer wow you stole that for $150....sure the plastic is bad but a good running 70 nice score....In less than $500 that thing will be mint....Are you breaking it down for the restro? I'd ride it out for the summer and think of the winter project budgit. I recomend 3w.org's 70 site lots of good info and some serious bad looking 70s over there.

Uh Oh! You've gone and done it now! Soon the rebuild kit won't be enough. You'll be thinking lifan and 125cc's and such. Then comes another 70. Maybe youi'll try a restore. Then, in the darkest depravity of the disease, you'll only think of suspension 70s! That's pretty much the rock bottom of the barrel at that point. Welcome to the madness. Misery loves company.
LOL Beware of mixing alcohol and friends and 70s.

Lol, thanks everyone. I'm not dumping much into this one. A rear fender, a carb rebuild kit and a new piston and rings. I'll probably just leave it that way and let me daughter ride it in a year or two. I'll keep it running by riding it until then .

The second stage is denial. A classic case if there ever was one! Oh the depravity. The shame your family must be feeling. LOL I guess yours will have the lifan and electric start then?

You will have more than one before you know it. You will need a second one so your daughter and you can ride together.
