Here is my latest widget that I have been working on. It needs some more paint and cosmetic work on the front end but here she is.
It is a 79 ATC 90 that I got out of the neighbors junk pile for $30. When I got it, it had every problem in the book: too long plug installed and hit valve, flywheel had gotten loose and trashed stator, countershaft sprocket missing 4 teeth- chain had been thrown and mangled cases causing severe oil leakage, ect. I'm not sure how a vehicle could have so many catastrophic failures. It seems like after 1 it would have been out of commission.
Anyway, I built it as a pitbike for motorcross races just to have something different than everyones hopped up xr 50's. So I aquired a 200x, chopped off the "neck" of the frame and installed it in the 90 frame. Subsequently I was able to install the entire 200x front end on my 90.
As for the rest I started with sandblasting and painting everything, then: new piston, rings, hone job, new valves, guides, inner and outer springs, minor head work, cam chain, points, condensor, stator, 110 intake and carb, air filter, custom pipe, custom bumper, countershaft sprocket, chain, I used blaster hubs and wheels on the rear. Also a 110 tank with custom ballpeen adjustment and 110seat and rear fenders.
