Need Help! assembling bottom end shift shaft 200x

Assembling the shift shaft
I have the honda manual ... did what it says but it really doesn't focus on that part very good.

I have the shift rod threw. I put it all together (the shift drum stopper ... stopper arm etc ..)

When I turn the rod to attempt to shift gears the ( piece thats held on by the "cotter pin" that clip...) the honda manual doesnt even give what that piece is :wondering
Anyways that piece just hits the case halfs .... its f$@%#$#

Glad you figured it out. I was replacing the clutch on a KFX 400 a couple years back and I noticed after I put it back together that the clutch release arm would just spin for days. Once I cooled off from being pissed about it I went back at it and noticed I forgot to put the push rod in. duh!
