So I see the 70's have a cult following and I saw this near me so I was wondering if it was worth picking up. I currently have an 86 200x and an 83 110 that I am working on so should I add this to my collection of projects?

Seems to be a pretty good price.

One that was almost perfect sold on ebay for in my area (NW OHIO) for around $250. Don't know what they are going for in other areas. Just depends on how much you want to spend, how much you want to spend fixing it, your ability to work on trikes, and parts availability. For me I can't work on any interior motor parts. I am not that mechanically inclined. So to me it's not that good of a deal. I could not fix the smoke issue. but ebay has had some plastics lately at a pretty good deal.
good luck

I know I'll need a fender and a carb kit. I'll check the bearings and such but what else is a common failing point on these trikes? I guess I'll need a piston/rings set too. These engines pretty easy to tear down?

Wow, I see crappy ones for $600 all over craigslist and nice ones for around $1000 or more. Now I don't know that they actually sell for that but I thought this was a much better deal. Maybe not if perfect ones go for $250.

I thought it looked pretty fair. Might not need a piston. Maybe just rings, valve seals, and a hone?

I might have to go for it. I'll get a few more opinions though.

That's what I was hoping to hear. I called the guy and he said the seat is perfect and so is the tank and tires and such. Only problems are the smoke and the rear fender. I should be picking it up Wed. or Thur. if things go well.

Awesome, i wish i could find another one for $100 like it did with my 83. I know a fella here that has 6 of em . . . hoping to trade Smokey (110 i pulled out of the junk yard) for 2 of em.

Nice find.

I paid around $300 each for both of mine. Not perfect by far, but run strong and are a blast to ride. Go for it.

I'd snatch it up for that cost....

It's great posting up the link, but I would only post the picture of items you want in the future and don't even disclose Craigslist as the source. We are ALL sharks here and looking for deals, no one intends to hurt anyone's feelings but a good deal is a deal!!

Good call DC. I had already called the guy and arranged a pickup before I posted. He is only available on Wed. so I figured something totally random happened and I didn't get it then it wasn't meant to be, right. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'll post better pics once I pick it up.

DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!

because after you ride it you WILL buy 3 more...they are addictive, lol!

Thats a good price, really. The hard parts to get are the tank without rust a good seat and pan and the recoil. Fenders are not a prob, many other colors available and if it smokes, sounds like it needs a 88cc big bore kit.

Well the $100 deal looks good but it looks as though I would need to upgrade a bit more. I'll probably need a bore, piston, and rings anyway so can I use that 88cc cylinder and piston and not have to worry about killing my engine. I know I won't get the full benefit of it but will it be reliable?

lol, maybe so. I found a standard new cylinder and piston kit with rings and gaskets on ebay for $75 shipped so I might just go that route. We'll see once I get the thing and get it opened up.
