86/87 t3 topend...

well i just need to know if its possible to put an 86/87 t3 topend on the 84/85 bottom end? if so what mods are needed? anyone ever do this before?

I don't think it's possible. The 86-87's have a powervalve for one. Not to mention the 84-85's exhaust port comes out to the side of the cylender where as the 86-87's come straight out the front. If you really wanted to do something like this to say, put and 86-87 motor in an 84-85 frame, the 86-87 motor itself bolts right into the 84-85 frame, but you would have to modify the front downtube of teh frame so the exhaust could go through it.

Not even worth considering. Nothing to drive governor, no provision in cases for actuator rod, Center port engine, and that's only the begining. The two engines really only share bore/stroke configuration, and kick start components, and have very little else in common.

Have you ever considered a 4 stroke donk for your 85? The KX250F motor has a side port exhaust on it.
