I have been watching Honda 250R's on ebay for quite a while now. They seem to be bringing quite a bit of money no matter the condition. So what I am wondering is $1700 for a 85 250R that looks to be in good shape a good deal? I also found another 85 250R for $1200 but it looks like it is in a little worse shape.
TIA,
Andrew

Just a opinion here. If the '85 ATC is in fairly good shape with no major flaws, I would say it could be worth as much as 2K. It all depends on how good the OEM paint is, if the plastic is good, and if all of the original parts are there. I've bought absolute wrecks for about $1500- and parted them out for more. With the economy like it is, that may not be possible rite now, but $1700- isn't too bad. Just make sure it doesn't have any big problems. Rebuilding the engine's top end is a common issue and cost some cash, but is a necessary evil with most old used two strokes. Hell , their a lot cheaper to rebuild than the current four stroker top ends!

From the way the pics look the fenders and gas tank are faded. The seat looks like it doesn't have any tears in it. And from what I can see everything is there. I plan on trying to talk him down a bit. On a side note I have been watching for 250R that are in driving distance and have not seen any the 3 years since I rebuilt my 81 and now there are two.
