So I finally got my jug back today. :Bounce I sent it out in February expecting the promised "one to two week turnaround time". Yeah right- After about 30,000 phone calls and 10,000 e-mails and 4 and a half months it showed up today. Worst part is I've been unemployed for the last two months and today I started work. Yep, the day my jug finally came back is the same day I start to work again. And I'm going away for the weekend to boot! Well anyhoo, figured I'd show some pics of this little device. It cost $255 with a top-end gasket kit included. But don't ship yours out unless you don't plan on riding for 5 months! I'm hoping I can run a stock Tecate kicker on it now. If it works, I'll have a brand-new KX500 kicker for sale if anybody's interested.

I like it!

Where does the coolant go when you retract it??

There's actually a sleeve that seals the compression release from the coolant. When you pull the lever, it vents right through the sleeve.

DC its sealed the coolant can't escape. Its the same setup that I have and yes his turnaround time kinda sucks.

I would strongly suggest NOT using the crumy plastic lever he inludes. Buy the shortest brake/clutch perch and lever you can find and use that.

Nice, thanks for the tip Louis!

Can you use an ASV lever with a hotstart??

So, I imagine the "sleeve" has 2 orings to keep the coolant where it belongs??

Are those cylinders coated? I wonder what's the machining holdup? Carbide would tear right through that puppy!!

Hopefully your leg will thank you

Its sealed with some kind of liquid sealant. I've been running mine for almost 3 years now and no issues. The spring on that valve is too much for a short hot start lever, I tried that at first and ended up with a bleeding thumb.

the sleave that runs through the side of the cylinder wall is aluminum. I would think on the next bore it just cut the aluminum away. His looks slightly different. Mine is a little recessed. Doesn't that that close to the edge of the sleeve.

I was worried about the same issue on the next bore. Then I thought if you're cuttin metal anyways, what's the issue?

I thought the same thing about it hitting the carb! I don't think it will though. This guys been doing these a long time and the only complaints I've ever heard are about his turnaround time. They seem to work well for everyone...

The dirtbike guys might all be using the newer angled intakes..
