Anyone every try putting the 84 XR200 RFVC complete topend on an 83-85 200x? I know just the head wont fit but what about the whole topend head pipes and carb/s?

Just like you, I've merely read that "it doesn't fit".

Thats the head with the 2 carbs correct? I can't imagine how you could get it in an ATC frame.

I think I also read that that motor didn't seem to have any advantage over the single carb setup - if it was in fact a dual carb setup.

Sorry I can't be of more help........

The top end is a different bolt pattern and I think the bore and stroke is different as well. Basically the whole engine is different, not just the top end.

I dont see how it would be an advantage over the stock head, with all the work it would need to be done to it.

Unless people are pushing twice the hp with that topend? it's a cool factor yes, but for the 1st gen 200x, there enough aftermarket to offset that cost.

is there actually twin carb RFVC XR200s? I thought it was only the 250s and upwards ive seen afew XRs on trademe which claim to be 200cc and have double carb but i just assumed the owner didnt know anything about his bike and that he had mistaken it for a 250.

My buddie had a brand new XR200 back in either 85,86 or 87. We were in high school so I can't pinpoint it - thought it was 85 though...
