my 70 is running so hot that if you spit on the motor it boils(while idleing). it runs great, no bogging. the timing is set right, carb is clean(1 1/2 turns on the air mixture and the clip is on the bottom notch of the needle), no air leak in the manifold but if you spray starting fluid by the choke lever the idle will decrease. the fuel bowl o-ring looks like its bad in the area of the choke lever. could a bad fuel bowl o-ring cause it to be lean? should i spend the money on a rebuild for this carb or buy a cheapie off of ebay? also here is a picture of my son riding for the first time, he likes to sit far back on that seat

putting around in 1st gear like the kids did when they were little ,,,, the poor 70 gets almost no air for cooling,,, so it will get hot,,, its not a big deal,, do you have acess to a heat gun? that would tell you for sure how hot it is,,,,

when riding it also it will quit, like its vapor locking. when it cools off its good to go again.

About The Only Thing That Would Cause That Much Heat At Low Rpm's And Very Little Load Would Be Timing
