I just got an atc 90 for free that was sitting outside with no cap on the gas tank. Any ways the inside is rusty of course. I figure on sandblasting/bead blasting the inside of it, unless theres a better idea and sealing it. Ive heard of Kreem. Where do i get it and how do i apply it to the inside of the tank?

Is it worth even saving??? Sounds like it might not be worth saving if there is too much rust. Just a question to ask yourself

I think its worth saving, the whole outside of it doesnt have 1 dent in it.

I won a tank off of ebay for my 110. Tank I have now is perfect, except for rust on the inside. The auction I just won, the guy told me radiator shops clean tanks with an acid solution and then fill them with some liquid that coats the inside of the tank so there is no more rust problem. Sounds good to me! I'll let u know when I get it.

coating it is the best way. gas tanks come with a special rust preventer on the inside. if you sand it , bead blast it you will still get surface rust when the tank gets low. it will oxidate very quickly. kreem kits work well to protect a non rusted tank. for a rusty tank i always use POR 15. it has always done a damn good job for me. if you buy the kit it will give you chemicals to remove the rust and chemical to coat it. there website is www.por15store.com and there phone number is (877) 548-9323

Kreem works great. My tank was ugly in and out, now its just ugly outside. Get the kit, it's three bottles and some directions. Costs about thirty bucks. fairly easy to do, takes some time but a rust free all white lined tank is happiness.
