I'll be watching this thread with interest because I have to rebuild mine as well. It would also be nice to know where I can get the stuff to do the rebuild.

yes! grind off the (peend over) threads of the shaft nut or it will break the threads- after you get it apart you will see you have to take the nut off to get the seal pack off the shaft
make sure to get the air out of it,and use nitrogen to charge it
inspect the bladder
is it the bladder clip your talking about?,you can drill a small hole in the bladder cap - insert a screw - not a big one or too deep!!! ,and pull out the cap
check the o rings, and hose for cracks
adjust the damper out i think before you take it apart
have the shop fill to specs- i think its 280 lbs of nitro
i blew mine because i didn't have enough air pressure it was collapsing too much i guess
the little damping screw has to come out as well!!!!,you'll need a skinny Phillips screwdriver
don't lose the parts, take pictures of dis assembly!
make sure what way your swinger linkage is - if you put it together wrong it sets too low you'll need to turn it over-(more work)
good luck
mine wasn't to bad for my 2nd one
