Besides supertrapp, DG, and Cobra, what other brands are out there? I have a DG on my 200x, and it sounds wicked at idle, but anything above its just a nussance. How about supertrapp or Cobra? Are they quieter than a DG?

cobra isn't quiet at all...

your best bet would be a stock 450r pipe.

Ok, cool! This sounds like a good idea. I read through that thread that Dirtcrasher started on '07 and there was alot of talk about using part of the 450R headpipe. Do you think I should pick up a headpipe too or can I get away with using the 350x pipe? Lemme get this straight. The only mod Ill need to do is to weld on another support bracket to the lower front of the muffler, correct? I think Allen(syko) had one on his old 350x, so maybe he can help out. TIA~

there is more then just welding on a suport bracket, there is quite a bit of modding done, I put the 450R headpipe on the stock 350x front headpipe joint and did some creative cutting and welding to get all the bends in and around everything. Stock its quite, but then add the optional end cap and it will sound good, I instead modded the end cap myself, I was very pleased with mine and at the time only out of $10 for the stock 450r exhuast complete off the bay.

You have to also build a midpipe. I used half of the 450R headpipe and half of the OEM silencers inlet and mig welded them together. It gave me a custom midpipe with clamps on both ends. I also spaced the silencer away from my new mount about 1.5" 's and that gets it past the caliper and the brake rezi.

here is my 350x thread you can see the work involved, unlike DC said I didnt make a mid pipe, I extended the front of the silencer to meat the new rear of the headpipe.

I was very pleased with the look and performance of the silencer.
