So I got my 84 250r axle in today and put it in the 200x. There are a few issues that I notice. First the sprocket bolts contact the axle carrier. What kind of spacer do you all use? Second, what size chain will I need for this. It's a 42t sprocket on the rear.
On a side note, I got the engine installed too but it wouldn't start :wondering

You'll need to get a sprocket made up for it from sprocket specialists. It's not a direct swap and requires some tinkering DEATHMAN knows the dealio.....
Compression, fuel and ignition at the right time? should run bud............

I'm not sure why I would have to have one made but I tried to PM deathman and it said that user didn't exist. ??

Look him up in the "member list" he has numbers on the end or something....
I think you have to either countersink or use all the 84R hardware etc etc.
The problem with the sprocket is that it make the gearing off quite a bit. Top speed will be reduced quite a bit, but getting there will be very quick!
Get it running will ya!................

So run a bigger sprocket on the front. Whats the biggest sprocket you can run on a 200X? I believe 250X and 300EX sprockets work on them.

Thats right PartsHoarder... I got it!
Also snagged an NOS kill switch from soilmec (ebay seller). 10 bucks more than they were 6 months ago... But what are you gonna do? Discontinued from Honda.

i had to sand the 86 carrier down a little to get mine to work. i did it last year so i do not remember all the details. i tried to swap the bolts and all around but they were the wrong size.

You need to get a sprocket made with the reassess like the 400ex sprockets. The heads on those are counter sunk tapered allen heads. That'll solve the issue. You just have to take the axle out to replace the sprocket.
