I'm finally underway with restoring my '85 250 SX and have a couple of questions. The rear end was full of water when I got it, so of course everything was pretty nasty/rusty. I've replaced the differential bearings, but I'm wondering if I need to look for a new drive shaft as well. The U-Joint seems to move properly without any catches, but it's badly rusted all over. Would you go ahead and try to replace it since it's all apart anyway? If so, do any of you know who might have an extra one laying around I could buy instead of dealing with Ebay?
Thanks,
Andy

Also, does anybody have any preferences on ordering parts from servichonda.com VS bikebandit.com? I've ordered a few things with bikebandit before without problem but you can't see all of the stupid microfiche's on some of the slides

I have ordered most of my OEM parts from my Honda dealer. I have found that when I order OEM parts from other sources, the parts might be cheaper but when you add in shipping they cost about the same. I have used www.powersportspro.com a couple of times and had no problems. I am just finishing up my SX.

The rear driveshaft that is now in mine had some rust on it. I wire-brushed it down to metal. I figured paint wasn't going to last on it, so I covered it with bearing grease. (the slipyoke should be greased anyway)
Don't forget to run your ventlines higher! Mine are in my airbox.
