Hi all,

I'm pretty sure I need to pop open the carb and clean it out really well, maybe reseat the idle jet but......

I had a great time on the trike, rode it through the mud, over some pretty nice obstacles, through some great trails, and rode for over 4 hours at a time, 2 days in a row. ON THE WAY BACK.....

I'm riding along a dirt road, cruising about 45, and the trike just all of a sudden loses power.....starts slowing down.... giving it throttle just keeps it from slowing down faster......I pull off the side of the road, try to start it and....nothing. AGAIN!!! So, I pull off the tank, check the air flow, fuel flow, spark, and throttle. All are working and in order. So....it has to be a carb problem....and it is very similar to what happened before. I imagine that I will pop the bowl off of the carb and find the idle jet out of the hole. So...... I need a permanent fix to that jet coming out of there. Any ideas?

Are you running an inline fuel filter? thats one of the biggest problems with these older ATCs. Tank and petcock gunk clog up things at the worse time.....

perhaps your air filter is a tad dirty

I bet you sucked something into the carb, plugging up a jet. Clean the carb again, make sure the air filter is clean and there is no junk in the tank. Do you run a inline fuel filter?

No inline filter. I am going to install one this weekend. Air filter is clean and new.

if it is the idle screw again, put a VERY small amount of loctite on it.
