Since my mates had his '83 110, it seems to have had a clutch slip problem, not bad, it survived trikefest (uk) etc... But it just doesnt feel quite right. As you change through the gears the engine seems to get louder but doesnt seem to pull much. I know these arent the most powerful of trikes, but it wont pull a wheelie in first, just makes a lot of noise then trundles off!
We took it apart, and all the clutch plates seem fine, weren't rubbed smooth or anything. The only thing we did notice missing, according to the manual, is the 'Belville' washer, you know, the curved one with 'outside' written on the erm.... outside. This is the only thing we can think of thats the problem, Any one got any experience with these?

a clutch dont have to be worn to be bad.

it could just be to hard, after years of use the fibers harden up. a vesrah clutch kit and HD springs do work great in those little motors.

thats what i run in my built up 110 and it hauls my (large) butt around with no slip at all

on the right side of the engine, there is a jam nut and a screw(probably has the rubber cover over it). and the jam nut loose and turn the screw in 1/4 a turn and tighten the nut back down. Repeat until no slippage.

We've tried that one, in various positions and ended up dislocating the lug on the inside of the casing where we adjusted it too much. Gonna have a fresh'tart with new plates an springs an go from there
