Thanks over the years to Dirtface and Kintore here on the boards - I have been able to collect all 3 generations of ATC250Rs. Each are of the 2nd year of their respective generations (1982, 1984, 1986).
The 1982 is pretty much all stock except for a plus 6 rear axle. It runs great and is very reliable. We do plan on tearing her down and making her really pretty in the pretty near future. Shelly will be racing it at future trike races.
The 1984 (named: Maverick) is all custom. It has 1986 front forks and triples, progressive front fork springs, after market pipe and silencer (no idea on identification), Boyesen Power reeds, black Maier plastic, custom chrome nerfs, and a whole lot of retro styling. I raced it all last season and did OK considering my size and the size of the bike, but have since put the headlight back on (thanks Sykolinclon) and run it as a trail bike.
The 1986 is pretty stock, but features a custom decal set (Thanks to my Race Sponsor - Riverhill Batery Warehouse) - Silver Maiers - a 4 gallon Clark tank (for my enormous thighs to wrap around better), wheel spacers, Boyesen Power reeds and FMF pipe and silencer. It runs absolutely awesome and is my race bike this year. It also features Progressive front fork springs.
