So....off the wall, anyone know how many MPG the 200S motor gets stock? We are taking her up to the mountains for the 4th of July, and there is a 14 mile trail (back and forth) that we want to ride on. My brother and wife will be riding too, at different times, and I need to know if I should bring more than 2 gallons of gas for say.....65 miles.

i'd fill the tank and bring an extra 2.5 gallon jug. you will probebly use all that to get there any back. it probebly gets around 30ish or so.

ive only ran outta fuel once on a trail ride after filling up a whole tank and that was after like ages of riding not including reserve but i pack a five litre spare fuel tank in my bag and usually thats enough to get me home if youre really not sure pack an extra ten litre on your rack if you have one

Alright! Thanks fellas. No rack, but I have a grab bar that I can jury rig the jug to. Bungee....an off roaders best friend.

It should go 65 miles on a tank easily. Make sure your air filter is on good shape, a dirty filter will suck the gas. I wouldn't pack a big gas can, just enough gas in something that could get ya back to the truck.

On a similar note, my 400EX has about the same size gas tank as a 200S, and we rode 76 miles (checked it on my Trailtech speedo)balls to the wall, and I had plenty left over. There was a group of 13 400EX's, 3 ran outta gas, strictly from dirty air filters, all were piped and jetted, 1 was a 500EX. I know that the 200 will not suck as much as my 400. I would guess you could go 100 miles on a stock 200S in good condition. I know that my 185S could make it that far.

I have the plastic 3.5 gallon tank on my 200s and I've got about 12 hours of riding on it and it's not 1/2 yet. 4-5 hours was pretty much WOT at Waynoka, the rest on trails.

Half of it ended up in the mud.

:naughty:

I dont have anything useful to ad but just take some extra gas and when you're near the truck/changing riders just fill it up again. I do know that no one likes to drag one home, TC...

actually now i think of it it was probably 7 hours +
because i took it out for a ride the day before the big trail ride and went way up the river for a real long trail ride the day after which was non stop apart from when my chain came off and when i ended up parking the bike in the forest.
