easiest way to recoil a recoil spring

I have tried several times to recoil up the spring in the pull assy but I can't get the spring back in.:mad: what is the easiest way to do this? I want to fix this tonight....

the easiest way i find works best with two people but can be done with one. First start working it in there by hand from the center out ( if that makes sense). then get someone to hold the spring in place while you get a hammer. Now take the hammer and wedge the handle into the center of the spring. Now with someone holding the spring and housing flat on the ground just turn the hammer until it is all coiled up.

I have fought with these things for hours, cut up my hands and get extremly pissed. Now i just grab my wife real fast and get here to hold the spring and housing for me and it just takes a few minutes. She has it down packed.
