Just picked this beauty up this weekend. She seems to be real fresh. Its not perfect and has been ridden (712 miles) on the speedo, but everything is there OEM and it shines. I bought it from a collector who wouldn't budge on the price of $3000 which is realy high for so cal prices, but I've built ATC's before that were ridden hard and you can quickly have this much into a 250R buying parts online to make it this original. Tell me what you think. It came with the original papers, manual and tools as well. Can't wait to ride it this weekend maybe.

250R's had some optinal eqipment back in the day and the speedo was one of them. Not sure if the dealer installed them or they came that way, but my owners manual shows it as a facotry option.

now that you mention that option i do remember hearing about that, but your trike is the first trike i have ever seen with a speedo...very cool! Is there any way to find a speedo to put on a trike these days?

I agree on the price. You always have to factor in what you'll have into it when your done. You either pay up front or pay more down the road doing a little at a time. Consider what a new quad costs also.

3k is a fair price. The bike is all there, right down to the brake cable holder. Great buy.
I have over 10k in my 86R and although it came out nice, it is not an OEM original. Good luck....take care of it.

Thanks guys for making me feel ok about my purchase. I'll be riding at my Dad's ranch which is in Murrieta behind Camp Pendelton Marine Base in So Cal. The temps there will be in the 80's. It doesn't get that hot there because its only about 10 miles from the ocean if that and does get a cool breeze. I'll be riding at like 7 am till noon. I have to dial this thing in. Its been sitting for years and needs to be ridden but I will be careful.
If your happy with it dude then thats all that matters,
Ok you may have paid a top price for it but if its what you want then its all good.
I would give the same money if i could find a genuine 85 1/2 TRIZ in that condition.
