i am a newbie to this place. i am having a problem with my twist throttle on my 84 250r. it hits my brake reservoir. the only way really to mount it is straight up in the air. can any body guide me to a throttle set up that will clear my reservoir.

thanks:D

Can you post a pic of the set-up? I know what you're talking about, but can't picture what the brake resovoir looks like on an 84.

I bought a universal one from Dennis Kirk for mine and made it work. Haha. There's even a fishing sinker on it.

like i said , the throttle assembly where the cable exits is hitting the reservoir. and pretty much has to be mounted like the pic. any one guide me to one that will mount better, thanks

I would say take the gaurd off and you'll gain some room. Maybe rotate the resovoir down a little too. It looks like there isn't much else to do. The brake lever on my z is down a bit, so I have the clearance, but that's how I like it anyway..

When I used to race back in the 80's, I ran the cable under the brake lever for protection in a crash. You basically mount the throttle upside-down, but obviously it works the same...

No problem, hope it works for you! Running it under the brake also helps take some of the strain off the cable.

Here's the only con I see with that though, If for some reason he were to crash hard,(heaven forbid) if the bars were to get bent, and hit the gas tank, that would make a mess out of it:eek:
