this happen a little while ago but i haven't had time to mess with it. but my 250r crapped out on me. I was riding then it kind of luged down and died. now i can not kick it over, won't budge at all. would this be a piston problem or something else?

sounds like you seized either the piston, crank or crank bearings.

how much do you think that'd cost to fix?

depends on what needs done, and if your doing the work yourself.
top end around 200.
crank bearings/seals 30-100, depending
Rod/rod bearings 75 + 100 to have the rod installed onto the crank.
if you are going to split the cases, i would put new crank bearings/seals in, and put a rod kit on the crank, to ensure everything is new, fresh, and ready to go.
could save you much money and work in the future, especially if it throws a rod because the bearings are shot.....then you could need an array of crap.

Do a comp test..Could be something simple like a fouled plug or clogged jets msybe..

If she kaffed as smoothly as you say then I'd say it's the crank. Pistons seizing are usually pretty violent and quick but can still happen the way you described it. Either way you are looking at a tear down and rebuild. If it is the piston that seized it may have taken the top end with it. You may want to upgrade the whole top end then to something like 330cc. Those parts are available pretty regularly on e-bay. You might even look at an entire engine on e-bay. I just bought a cherry one for $1k but they usually go for 500-600 in very good condition. Sorry to hear about this but at least a two stroke is easy to work on.
