I decided that I needed a new project. And for only $40.
I need to know what this wire is for on the lower front left hand side of the engine. Where does it go?
What does this little thing plugs into. It's on the lower back left hand side of the motor.
So you yamaha guys give allot of info on this trike. I need to go and find a book on this thing to now. I don't know what year it is so if anybody knows what year it is tell me.
It needs the throttle and line, and a kill switch which I got.

I may be able to help find the year if you have a vin number. If you got it email or post it and I will check the microfiche.

I believe that it is part of the oil pump. These have a Y shaped throttle cable that splits under the seat. One side goes to the carb, and the other to the oil pump. You can omit this stuff, and just use premixed fuel. I still use mine, but Im not sure how reliable it is. Ive been told that the 82 and 83 only differ by the addition of a vacuum operated fuel pump on the 83 model. It is common to bypass these also, but if you see a little pump under the tank with spots for three hoses, then its most likely an 83. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your help so far.
I'll email you howdy in couple minutes with the VIN.
Can anyone tell were does pic yam4 plug into?
How do you connect the oil injector pump?

the pic YAM4, I have the same thing on mine. I took off that cover to see what was up and there is nothing in there! just an empty cavity. Im guessing that that little plug is some kind of trap for any spilled fuel? Like an over flow for the carb?? I have nothing hooked up to it, and it runs fine.

I saw this on ebay. Do I really need it or not? And what does it do? I still haven't gotten a book on it yet.

The YT125's have the same set-up as the 175. That little chamber I also believe is an overflow of some type. I just ran some lines off of it up under the seat to keep water and dirt out. It doesn't seem to have any important function.

thats right, that pic shows just an overflow container for the carb. its not needed.
