has anyone come up with a way to salvage brake calipers (250r to be exact) that have the pins broken off inside, the heads of the pins stripped out, or the threads for the pins GONE? i have 1 of each i believe and i REALLY need to get something thrown together relatively soon. it seems to me that almost all 250r calipers i come accross have some kind of issues with these brake pins so i thought maybe someone had a easy fix for them by now. I know if i get the old pin out i could probablly put a long bolt through the caliper with a nut on the other side but that seems kind if junky.

well dam, those calipers appear to be dirt cheap on ebay too. that thread had lots of questions in it so i'll ask a few important questions here.

pretty much any year any model yz caliper will work but try to get something newer?

the caliper is all that i need?

i will have to oval out the holes on the caliper itself to make it fit? thanks for the heads up, i may never buy another 250r brake part again if this works.

yeah its a cheap upgrade just make sure you get a front caliper ...the front dirt bike caliper is what fits.

as far as year mine was a 02 and the size of the doner bike dont matter as long as its bigger then a 80....so 125-450 is fine

yes you just need the caliper and the sliding mount thats normaly atached to the caliper

as for as the holes you dont do a thing to the new caliper....just to the old 250r caliper mount like i did...its hardly anything at all. you will see whats up when you get it.

if you need help just ask
