Hey Everyone
After getting the Tecate out of storage, I find that it has no front brakes! There shows to be fluid in the res, there are no leaks that I can see, nothing looks broken. There is NO feel in the brake lever at all. The machine hasn't been ridden for 3 years. Could the seals in the caliper have just "gone bad"? Would it be easier/cheaper to buy another caliper? Can I use a frt caliper from another machine like maybe a KX?
Thanks!

85 t3 caliper will bolt right up. cheaper route would be a rebuild kit for the exsisting caliper though. and check the master cylinder, could be something in there as well.

Yep, sounds like the master is not pushing any fluid.

Thank you, Gentlemen.
How would I diagnose the master cylinder? The manual doesn't have much to say about it. I'd really like to figure it out before I start buying things.

I know 84-86 Kx250 looks identical. Just blew out the site glass on an 86 KX250 master cylinder. Wonder if I can get that part? Or just JB weld a slug there or somethin?
Anyway, does your brake cylinder move? Don't push it in too far like I did unless you have the master cylinder reservoir cap off. Push it in some and then pull the brake lever to move it out. If the pads are worn and it is extended all the way there might not be much feel in the lever. If it moves freely enough then most likely the master cylinder.
You can blow compressed air through the caliper to remove the cylinder or just move it some to check it. Caution! It will fly out of there!
Maybe your lines have air in them? Just a thought.
