ja! my 85 200x is running great but i want to know some stuff yeah!
I recently came up on a bassani pipe and k&n air filter put those goodies on.
i set my valves to .oo4" as my mechanic said he ran his at .006 and the artilcles say .oo3 so with my goodies what would be best?
also what would be a good next step? carb? whats a good size while maintaining reliability.
also i found a rough 200x at my pops junkyard(that where i got the bassani:Bounce ) and it has a different cam, im gunna install it and see what happens but, how could i tell what type of cam it would be for without the install and test?

You would have to measure the lift and compare it to another performance cam out there. I always use the OEM manual specs for valve adjustment. .006 may not hurt and most people can't hold .003 by the time they lock the nut down anyhow.

normaly a aftermarket cam calls for more clearence.....006 might be a little big id just go .004 intake .005 ex

i would go with a carb. 28 or 30 mm should be good. reason is a motor is like an air pump. the bigger the exhaust the easier it breathes, so now you need to throw a bigger carb on there to compensate and make it breathe in more air/fuel mixture.

well with the new pipe its hard to get it to idle because of all the backflow and i took my needle clip on the carb to the top and adjusted the breather screw and that helped some but it will still only stay idle for 30 secs. ha who needs to idle though when you can go! thx for the advice. ill post some pics tomarrow cuz im proud of my lill bomber!:w00t:
