View Full Version : going to build the 85 sx instead

i'm going to use the front end off my 85 200x and build the sx instead since it already runs. did some ebay shopping and got a wire harness,airbox,and batt box. bidding on a few other odds and ends. i'll post progress pics but it's going to be slow.

Nice bud, I love the ole SX. Make sure to fab up some steering stop brackets before you get allot of work done. You can cut off the 200X stop and mig weld it onto the SX neck. I can help you out if you get in a jam.

i may fab up a stop, i may try selling the x so i don't want to hack it up. where in mass are you? i moved from the cape to florida.

I have my SX torn apart, about to begin a rebuild. Is this something I will need to do too since I have it apart? Does it not have steering stops already?

the stops are different for the 200x forks.

got the harness today, the batt box and filter assembley, light/start switch,and rear brake cable are on the way.
