My friend just got a yamaha 175 tri-moto. It says that it suppose to be a auto. Ever time he stops and puts in gear in dies. Their is L shape tube coming out of the side of the engine case, and the wire is cute. Is it suppose to be auto or a manual. I'll take pictures of it you what me to.

He asked me if I want to buy it. Are they pretty quick, he says its slow right now. He bought it to use the motor in a go cart. He only got it for $40.

His centrifugal clutch is froze. It can actually be driven by feathering the shifter like hand clutch.

pic. 1: Here is the wire that is coming out of the lower right side of engine case. Is this part expensive?
pic. 2: Picture of it.

I'm really thinking about buying it, but I don't have any clue about yamaha and 2 strokes, but you got start some time I guess. Also it doesn't want to run right to. Are they pretty fast trikes compared to a 110 or 200s?

The Tri Moto 175 will smoke a 110 and 200s in a race, no problem. They are actually a good match for a 200x, not on a track, but on a flat drag race. For their size, their very fast.

I replied to your post at .org regarding the oil pump. It has been said that this is probably the fastest hard tail trike ever produced.

The L shaped thing is the cable for the oil injector. If it's not hooked up it will cook the motor unless you mix the gas by hand.
