Mine has 14/39 gearing with 21/12/8 scat trak haulers.

It does very well in the sand drags.

When we are trail riding in the sand it seems just a little to high of gearing in some of the tight spots. Especially when youve just made a very tight turn then have to climb a huge steep hill right afterwards.

My next sprockets will be stock 13/39. Hope this helped

I had 14/39 on my 250r quad, I loved it. great bottom to mid, but it might have been the way the quad was setup. I could climb decent hills in 4th with ease. I tried to put that gearing on my atc250r, but I already cut the chain and it was 1 link short. right now I have 13/38, with fmf fatty, powercore, v-focre reeds and 38 a/s, I like it, because its alittle tall and I do trail riding mostly and I can lug the motor alittle while waiting fo rmy friends to catch up, and a stabof the cluth I'm in hyperspace again. With 13/39 on the quad I was topping out 6th on most straight aways, by the way run 20/11/9 holeshots xcr's. use 22's if your gonna use 13/39, with 14/39 on the quad I was still

i do have 22/11/9 on the rear.. it was a typo error..

tomorrow ill guess ill tryi the 14 to 39 setup.. i want it to be a lil more peppy than it is now... or should i say before.
cause right now i know it has a killer top end but.. around in my neighborhood we ride on the streets alot.. i want to be able to bend a corner and lay in it... the 14/36 setup seems to take forever to wind out..

wjhhat u think?

I've played around with the gearing on my 86R and found the 14 - 38 combo to be the best set up for my riding style. I gained alot of top end and also noticed that it did not affect my lo end much at all from the 13-38 gearing I had previously. I have FMF pipe & Silincer W/ Boyesen Rad Valve, Dial- A - Jet and 20x11x9 Holeshots. Hope this helps :)
