well i was riding it and it just up and died in 4th gear. well i tried to restart it there with no luck so i pushed it home. i checked all wiring connections for proper connection and it was all fine. well after a little while i got it to start. well i let it sit there and run for a while and it seemed fine, hopped on and took it for a test drive. got to 3rd this time and it died again and would not start again for a few hours. i tried the cdi from my 85 250es big red but it wouldent start period then. i guess it is different than the 200es cdi huh? well i dont have a 200es big red cdi to try and they are not really cheap. i was hoping someone here could help. any ideas?
thanks,
John

Check the fuel flow to the carb and also make sure the gas cap vent isn't plugged.

Check the petcock. If its a metal tank there could be rust built up in the valve. Do you have a inline fuel filter? Check that too, if you have one.
