Hello I'm bringing back an old 85' atc 110 back from the dead.
First thing is that the tranny on it is an all Up shift, not down like the 84 my buddy has. I did some research and there doesnt look to be like they made any changes in 85 except for graphics. Any idea why mine shifts up?

Also, The spark plug is fouling out fast-20 seconds or so and a new plug black. The atc will not stay idiling becuase the plug fouls. It has a 35 pilot with air screw 1.5 out and no air cleaner and its still rich. It doesnt smoke etc. starts first pull.

needle and seat appear to be ok??? crankcase is not filling up with fuel and fuel is not leaking out of the float bowl overflow tube when sititng etc. Any idea why the plug is fouling so quickly? If it had an air leak wouldnt it be lean? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!!

The shift pattern is correct. 84s are down, 85s are up.
Do you have any spare carbs to try?

sounds like you have the timing off.

have you cleaned the carb? sometimes you can miss something when cleaning, causing it to not run right/foul plugs or run lean.
