after i drowned my bike afew weeks ago i finally got it running(although it was leaking fuel when the fuel switch was on and engine off i went anyway). So yesterday i took it for a run it was going alright til i ran outta gas then me and my mate had 2 take his 2 wheeler 2 the local petrol station 2 get more.It started raining on our way back but stopped shortly after we arrived. So i filled her up and she wouldnt start. Eventually we push started her and she fired up and was going like before. then on my way home it started cutting out and dying. so we push started it again and it was back firing then after that it would just die when i started it.

A guy i know who was down at the river told me i needed a new needle (& something else but cant remember what)to stop it leaking but i noticed i lost afew screws outta the carb (probably because it was running at high revs) would it go good again if i got a new carb for it?

Check compression. Usually pushstarting means it has low compression.

If compression is good, then a new carb should get you going.

Did any water get in the engine and did you get it all out?

its still got compression when i pull it. After we push started it the first time it would start like first pull and i took the spark plug out and used the pull start 2 pump any water out via the head and i did that afew times and nothing was coming out of it.

Are the screws on the bottom or top of the carb?

its a straight head screw that is facing upside down although its inline with the bottom half of the carb its connected to the top. I believe it adjusts a certain setting.

Not sure which screw your talking about without knowing the bike, or carb. Any pics?

I parked the trike at my mates place last night because his house was closer and less distance 2 push 2 so I cant get any pics of the carb. But here are some pics of the trike. Its a 1985 ATC200S

That screw is the low speed mixture screw, it'll never run right without it.

Thanx for that. Im buying a 2nd hand carb online for $20(NZD) hopefully that gets me running.

That should solve it
