hello ,I liks many here always wanted a 2 stroke trike ,I had a big red that I used to drive everyday for access to home, and haul everything about a mile through mud in and out,I had a 200x that I rode when not hauling, working or packing people(trailer was set up to haul people or cargo).life changed I always regret getting ride of my 200x probably will forever..I have been reading here often and scouring the internet for race trikes within a days drive ,as well as canada wide, there is a handfull around 2500.I have been working myself up to spending that but hoping somthing comes up more resonable and about ten days ago when I got home at 1am I was doing my mindless internet searching and there was a add in ontario for a tri-z saying it was in clearwater (4-5 hrs from me)for 900 I could hardly sleep I tried not to call to early about, 830am guy said it was his kids and he would have him call, when he called I said I wanted it ,just to figure out my getting it to me ,he said he got it the previous year from a guy in kamloops that had had it ,it was outside in his shed, this guy had 13 immaculate big reds and had no time to mess with the tri-z and wanted it gone..anyway the kid bought it but his dad was the classic "ohhh err trikes are dangerous thats why they outlawed them " and his dad pressured him to sell steady,I dont think he did more than start it a few times ,as when I cleaned the filter it was fresh clean ,pretty much but looked like it was done a few years ago.got it the other day I cleaned the filter, topped up rad,and whent ripping around, ohh yea trikes are dangerous especially when they have no suspension dampening and lots of pogo stick style travel,it ran great,I am very happy I never expected to get a complete original trike ,it is complete pretty much ,the hedlight cage, silencer, grab bar,and handlebars are bent but thats it ,a few screws that arent original, seat needs cover, plastic is faded(front fender has slight damage).needs chain sprockets ,axle, linkadge ,shock bearings.other wise looks great,I think its in better shape than my old trikes I sold 15yrs ago.heres some pics ,I think I might update as it all goes ,I am just rying to plan what I need so I can get everything ordered this week,I want to take the top end apart and see what shape its in ,I dont think I will modd it initially as it seemed like a real nice powerband ,I am anxious to look inside and see if it has had work to ports or not, will be riding trails and doing a bit of hill climbing, the shock shaft and forks seem in excellent shape so going to look at rebuild.ohh it has had the steering stop trimmed looks like for flatracking..will take pics and probably have lots of ramblings

Here are your pics. Looks like a great find! I know here in Newfoundland you can't get a running twostroke trike for under $1200.

Good stuff.

Let me say this, in any project you want to get all the mechanical stuff working before you go after the bling or cool parts. Make sure you have great brakes, strong reliable motor, electrical and cooling before you worry about cosmetics is what I'm saying.

Have fun.

hey I am interested in doing a full rebuild ,I am interested in talking to people and getting feedback on my project,I am certainly capable of this it is actually a simple little side project for me,you know I am 35 and have 5 kids, I have done a lot of mechanics and fabricating,a rebuild on trike is nothing, well just fun.....like I said I was hoping for a bit of feedback from people that are into or preferably obssesed on trikes.as I dont know anybody that has or cares about race trikes...so maybe I will just post pic in a few months and spend my time just searching forums as it seems to be what is expected of a new member,I am looking for a forum that I can discuss all aspects of this project with people that are interested
