I bought a bead breaker off ebay; been changing allot of tires lately and the way I break beads is hard on the rims and scratches them pretty bad usually. Anyway I bought this thing, took it outside tonight to give it a try and dang near hurt myself. Seems that if I had another arm it would work better. I'm just not getting what this thing is supposed to do.

Can someone talk me through the steps to using this style of bead breaker?

Thanks,
Chris

adjust the silver part to the rim ,, pull the out side lever twards you to grip the rim,, then pull the other to pop the bead.. you may have to put your foot on the rim at the same time..and if all goes right you will be struggleing to pop the bead wile hopping on one foot..dont hurt yourself:lol:

have a buddy stand on the wheel as you use that tool

Pick up a really fat chick at a bar and tell her to "take a load off" and sit on the tire. Then yank out that mechanical device and see how she reacts.....

That's the way I've been doing it, my Dad taught me that years ago. It indeed does work, but I've scratched some wheels badly by pushing them along the driveway when the vehicle wheel got too close. It is actually easy to do but I didn't want to do it on the new wheels that came on my Raptor.

This bead breaker contraption seems like allot of work, maybe impossible by myself which is the main reason I wanted an alternate technique to the truck and board method; it takes a buddy to help.

Maybe just duct tape some cardboard to the bottom of your wheel before you use the truck and board method? Seems easier than messing with that hunk of steel.
