electric winch on a 200s?

I am wanting to put an electric winch on my 200s. Is it possible to modify my wiring to charge a battery that will run the winch? I do have a voltage regulator from another atv. Can I wire the regulator to the 200s lighting coil, and then use the regulator to charge the battery? Before I buy a nice winch, I want to make sure I will be able to get power to it.

you'll need to put in a rectifier diode to convert the ac voltage to dc voltage. in addition you'll need a battery and a battery box.

I'm not worried about the battery or battery box, but where would I get a rectifier diode? could I use one from another atv? I have an entire harness from a 225dx (they have electric start) if any parts from it would be helpful.
